A
construction worker lays brick for Founders Inn
renovations. |
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.—Regent
University’s Founders Inn is building two state-of-the-art
conference centers and a food kiosk on the west end of the
building. Tesoro Corporation is expected to have the
conference rooms completed by July 1, 2001, providing for an
additional 4,000 square feet of conference space.
When Benchmark Hospitality
took over the management of Founder’s Inn in 1998 one of
their philosophies was to remedy "the lack of high tech
conference rooms," said Rich Jemiola, Director of
Administration and Auxiliary Services at Regent University.
We are now on a "fast-track" to provide for the
development of these new conference rooms.

Construction
continues on the West Wing. |
Each of the newly
constructed conference rooms will have a 75 seat capacity
and will be equipped with smart podiums, tackable wall
services, and audio-visual connectivity between the
conference rooms and the amphitheater. The food kiosk in the
center will service both conference rooms.
Founders Inn also recently
completed a third conference room, which was the renovation
of the Thomas Jefferson Amphitheater. The amphitheater now
contains 2,200 square feet of meeting rooms with 78 work
stations and features ergonomic seating, 9X12 rear-screen
projection, Dolby digital surround sound, a 5000 lumens SXGA
projector, and internet connections.
