USCG Training Center, Yorktown, Virginia

Print this Project

The Tesoro-Burgess & Niple team designed and constructed a 60’ training tower for the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center, Yorktown, Virginia.

The project included site work, reinforced concrete foundation, steel jig, platform, 45’ galvanized steel tube frame tower, and a safety climb ladder that is fitted with an unauthorized personnel anti-climb device. This tower is the same type installed in the water by the Coast Guard to serve as a national aid to navigation (NATON) when properly outfitted. It is used to train military personnel to properly and safely climb towers to maintain mounted equipment.
