This project entails the construction of a 72-person, three-story dormitory in accordance with the Air Force’s Dormitory Master Plan. The facility will replace existing dormitory space that is in poor condition and does not conform to current Air Force standards of adequate living quarters at a level of privacy required for today’s Airmen.

The structure will consist of a pile-supported reinforced concrete foundation, load-bearing metal stud walls, precast concrete and masonry exterior, and standing seam metal roof. The civil work includes site utilities, concrete and paver walkways, and a paver drive.

The dormitory has been designed and will be constructed to comply with DOD Anti-terrorism/Force Protection standards to include blast resistant windows and structural features that prevent progressive collapse of the building. Other sustainable design features and construction practices will enable certification under the Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy

and Environmental Design for New Construction.

The dormitory will consist of 18 modules each with four bedrooms with private baths and a shared kitchen, living room and laundry room. The modules will be stacked three high in individual three-story building units that will be connected together with open breezeways.

The contract includes options that may be exercised to demolish two dormitories, which currently house Airmen that will move into the new dormitory when complete.
