| This project was a fast-track renovation of administrative spaces for the Joint Forces Homeland Security Command, which was established following 9/11. The project was design-build with Navy designers as our partner. The scope of work included hazardous material abatement, demolition, masonry, roof repairs, drywall partitions, doors, windows, suspended ceilings, elevated flooring, carpeting, ceramic tile, resilient tile flooring, painting, modular furniture, plumbing, fire sprinklers, HVAC system alterations, electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, and data cabling. |
The initial award was for selected demolition
to allow work to proceed while design was underway. Subsequent work
was added as the design and clarification of the client’s
requirements progressed. Informal partnering was used throughout the
project to coordinate requirements and schedules.
