About Us:

Tesoro Corporation is the "Contractor of Choice" for clients who demand and greatly value Integrity, Responsiveness, Experience and Professionalism - the four cornerstones of our corporate philosophy.  We believe our steadfast commitment to this philosophy enabled us to grow from a small, five-person company in June of 1997, to one of over 160 employees at present, doing over $50 million of business each year.  We received Virginia's "Vanguard Award" for being the fastest growing company in all of Virginia in 2003.  We were also recognized in INC. magazine as being the 24th fastest growing company in the USA for that year.

Our rapid growth prompted us to open several additional offices.  Our office in coastal North Carolina serves our Navy and Marine Corps clients at Camp Lejeune and Cherry Point and other clients throughout North Carolina.  Our office in Charleston, South Carolina serves our clients throughout South Carolina and Georgia.  Most of our current clients are former clients and we have become their "Contractor of Choice." Now in our tenth year, our growth continues.

We are committed to not only meeting, but exceeding our customers' expectations (See Client Reviews).  We listen to their concerns, treat them with respect, and strive to delight them in all aspects of their projects.  Tesoro has a track record of successes on numerous  Design-Build Projects.  We partner with the owner, users, designers, and our subcontractors to achieve a best value, quality facility that is completed on time, and within budget.

Our strengths lie in our people.  We are not a one-person Management Team; we have a professional management staff of thirteen degreed project managers with eight registered Professional Engineers.  We believe our Management Team is as professional, responsive, and capable as any general contractor in our market (projects from $1,000 to $20 million) in the country.

The people listed below, supported by 35 experienced superintendents, quality control managers, and a knowledgeable office staff, are responsible for our rapid growth and continuing success.

The Tesoro Corporate philosophy places as much importance on the quality of our skilled trades personnel as our degreed professionals. We have an experienced cadre of superintendents, mechanics, and skilled laborers. Each of our superintendents and lead personnel has completed the Contractor Quality Control class offered by the Army Corps of Engineers and by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command.

All our superintendents have completed the 30-hour OSHA Safety Training Course.  In addition, each is a Certified STS (Safety Training Supervisor) from the Council on Certification of Health, Environ-mental, and Safety Technologist.  They are also First Aid Certified, and CPR certified.  In fact, ALL Tesoro employees are both First Aid and CPR trained.

Note that Tesoro Corporation is a drug-free company with both pre-employment and periodic random drug testing requirements for all of our people.  Also, we have a dress code that prohibits offensive hairstyles, weird clothes, and facial jewelry devices.  We receive many comments about the professionalism of our field personnel.

Our people are not only technically competent, but flexible, enthusiastic and imaginative.  These folks get the job done and do it well.  This results in frequent repeat business opportunities with our established client base.

We are very proud of the capabilities our people bring to Tesoro, and we are excited about the future.
